Science and Humanities

The faculty of Science and Humanities was established in 2002. The department plays an important role in educating the beginners of learning to meet the future challenges of technology, leadership and relations. They provide a basic platform for the professional engineers for critical thinking and inquiry. A deep knowledge and an aptitude for Mathematics is the most essential tool for the modern graduate engineers. The faculty feels that it is high time to revamp the conventional method of teaching; transfer of knowledge from the faculty to the learners.

To foster scientific temper, mathematical knowledge, communication competence, employability and ethical sensitivity to mould prospective engineers and technocrats.

  • To infuse scientific knowledge in learners and equip them to apply it in the engineering field.
  • To make learners to develop mathematical thinking to solve complex engineering situations.
  • To inculcate soft skills in the learners in conforming to the needs of the competitive world.

The Basic Science and Humanities Department of this esteemed institution combines faculties par brilliance with best laboratory set-ups to provide students with excellent and all round exposure in theoretical knowledge and practical training in the subjects like Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics, Physical education, English Language and Communication. A high standard is maintained in the Department when it comes in developing young minds.

In the undergraduate level engineering programme, the department offers courses in Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, English and Communication Skills in the first and second semesters; Mathematics up to the fourth semester. Business Economics and Life Skills in the third & fourth semesters; and Management courses in the fifth and sixth semesters. The objective of the courses is to create engineers with strong mathematical background, creative thinking and problem solving skills, through systematic training and research and by discovering feasible solutions to challenging real world problems.

A well-equipped Multi-media Language Lab maintained by the department helps students to sharpen their linguistic skills. A support system is facilitated to foster the soft skills of the students through Communication Skills and Life Skills classes to achieve the self-development of students in their professional and social life. The department aims at the holistic development of students through counselling sessions, sports, NSS activities, YRC activities Personality development programs and by host of other activities
