The laboratory is equipped with sophisticated equipments like Universal testing Machine, Hardness testing machine, Impact testing machine, torsion testing machine etc. The purpose of this laboratory experiments is to understand various aspects of mechanics of materials through laboratory analysis. This laboratory involves many experiments which will help to learn and understand the properties of material as well as the responses under various loads.

LIST OF EXPERIMENTS – MATERIAL TESTING LAB I

• Tension test on ductile material (mild steel/ tor-steel/ high strength steel) using Universal testing machine and Extensometer. 
• Bending test on wooden beam using Universal testing machine
• Verification of Clerk Maxwell’s law of reciprocal deflection and determine young's Modulus of steel.
• Determination of spring stiffness of close coiled/open coiled/series/parallel arrangements.
• Toughness test of the given material using Izod and Charpy Machine
• Shear test on mild steel rod.
• Estimation of hardness properties of Engineering materials such as brass, aluminium, copper, steel etc. by performing Brinell hardness test
• Estimation of Hardness properties of engineering materials such as brass, aluminium, copper, steel etc. by performing Rockwell hardness test
• Strut test
