The Department offers undergraduate programmes in B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) and B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) under the affiliation of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The Programmes started in the year 2021 under the department of Computer Science and Engineering and started to function as a separated department in the year 2022.
Today’s competitive era demands creativity and innovation to be imbibed in the professionals at the under graduate level. The Department has adopted modern practices to enrich the thought process of students with creativity and innovation. The goal of the department is to nurture the academic as well as personal excellence of our students by providing student centric learning, industry exposure and outstanding career opportunities.
Backbone of the department comprises a crew of well experienced, highly qualified and dedicated team who are always enthusiastic to update their knowledge. The department aims to buildup a community where the actionable insights and cutting-edge technology turn into innovative products towards solving real-world problems.

The Department Advisory Committee interacts and maintains liaison with key stakeholders.
- The Department Advisory Committee is chaired by HOD who receives the report of the Department Advisory Committee and monitors the progress of the program.

Aims and Objectives
Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Cyber Security Department Association was started in the academic year 2022-2023. It is a platform that aims to boost students’ knowledge while also giving them the opportunity to interact with industry leaders. The association is guided by the faculty coordinator and active throughout the academic year. Association conducts various technical events and workshops in core domains. The Association encourages students to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, keeps students and faculty informed about current events and trends, and provides students with the skills to function as effective members of society and the profession with an understanding of the global implications of their work.
It offers sufficient opportunities for students to develop presentation skills, organizational skills, and leadership traits, allowing them to develop their whole personalities. Rudhirasena Orientation Session by Farhana PK
The NSS Unit (1224) of MES College of Engineering and Technology, Kunnukara successfully conducted a Rudhirasena Orientation Class on 12th August 2024 (Monday). The session was held at the Seminar Hall from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
The orientation was handled by Ms. Farhana PK, who guided and inspired students on the objectives, responsibilities, and importance of joining Rudhirasena – a noble initiative focused on voluntary blood donation and awareness.

PyWorks 1.0: Python for Engineers – Faculty Development Programme
The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology organized a Faculty Development Programme titled “PyWorks 1.0: Python for Engineers” from 25th January to 28th January 2023. This initiative aimed to enhance the programming skills of faculty members by providing hands-on exposure to Python, a language pivotal in engineering and scientific computing. The sessions were led by Prof. Siju K S, Associate Professor at Saint Gits College of Engineering, Kottayam, who brought valuable insights and practical knowledge to the participants.Throughout the four-day programme, attendees explored core Python concepts, problem-solving techniques, and engineering applications using Python. Designed specifically for S3 students, the workshop served as a stepping stone into the world of programming. The event emphasized the relevance of Python in data science, AI, and cybersecurity fields, helping students connect theoretical learning with practical applications. The enthusiastic participation and hands-on approach made the session a valuable experience, setting a strong base for students’ future academic and professional pursuits.
Industry Expert Lecture Series – Talk 1 by Vishnu A K
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology launched its Industry Expert Lecture Series with Talk 1 on 5th October 2023. The event featured Mr. Vishnu A K, Software Development Engineer at Amazon, who addressed students and faculty in the Main Block Seminar Hall at 10:00 AM. His presence provided an incredible opportunity for attendees to gain industry-level insights from one of the world’s leading tech companies.
Mr. Vishnu shared his journey from college to corporate, shedding light on the skills, mindset, and dedication required to thrive in top-tier tech firms. He also discussed current industry trends, real-world software development practices, and the significance of continuous learning. Industry Expert Lecture Series – Talk 2 by Mohammed Ijas
Continuing the successful Industry Expert Lecture Series, the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology hosted Talk 2 on March 5, featuring Mr. Mohammed Ijas, Graphics Hardware Engineer at Intel Corporation. The session was held in the Main Block Seminar Hall from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, offering students a unique chance to interact with a professional from one of the world’s top semiconductor companies.
Mr. Ijas provided an engaging talk on the evolving landscape of graphics hardware, career opportunities in hardware engineering, and the real-world challenges faced in cutting-edge technology development. His insights into working at Intel, combined with practical advice on skills and academic focus, resonated deeply with aspiring engineers. The session motivated students to broaden their horizons and explore interdisciplinary roles in the tech industry.
Inauguration of CYBIX LAB at ICET – A Step Into the Future of AI and Cyber Intelligence
The Department of AD&CC at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET) inaugurated the CYBIX LAB (Cyber and Intelligence Exploration Lab) on March 8, 2023. Held at G11, Main Block, the event introduced a state-of-the-art facility focused on robotics, artificial intelligence, and cyber technologies. A humanoid robot featured prominently in the poster, symbolizing the lab’s commitment to innovation and hands-on learning in the realm of intelligent systems.
Supported by ICET, Ilahia Trust, and the National Brain Research Institute (NBRI), the CYBIX LAB is set to become a center of excellence for students and researchers. This initiative aims to provide practical exposure, foster creativity, and prepare students to lead advancements in cybersecurity and AI-driven solutions.


Cybersecurity Workshop on Attack & Defense Fundamentals Specialization
The Department of AD & CC at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET), in collaboration with ASUS, edX, and dboqua, conducted a hands-on workshop titled “Cybersecurity Attack & Defense Fundamentals Specialization” on April 5, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the CYBIX Lab, ICET. This highly focused session aimed to equip students with practical knowledge in system defense, threat mitigation, and secure development practices.
Participants explored essential cybersecurity concepts including defensive techniques, Git controls, Kali Linux, and other open-source tools. The workshop offered students a platform to gain real-world skills relevant to current industry needs. With a registration fee of ₹800, the event saw enthusiastic participation and strong engagement from aspiring cybersecurity professionals.
Workshop on HTML and DOM Manipulation Using JavaScript
The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET), in collaboration with dboqua, organized a practical workshop on HTML and DOM Manipulation Using JavaScript. Held on June 5, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the CYBIX Lab, ICET, the session aimed to build foundational web development skills among students.
With a registration fee of ₹250, the workshop covered key topics such as introduction to HTML, JavaScript basics, and DOM manipulation through hands-on projects. Designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike, the event provided an engaging learning experience, helping participants strengthen their understanding of client-side scripting and dynamic web page interaction.


5-Day Workshop on Python Programming at ICET
The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET), in association with CSI Chapter ICET, successfully conducted a 5-day workshop on Python Programming from May 22 to May 26, 2023, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. This intensive training program was designed to strengthen programming skills and provide hands-on experience in one of the most in-demand languages in the tech industry.
With a workshop fee of ₹750, the session attracted enthusiastic participation from students keen to build a strong foundation in Python. The program was coordinated by Prof. Anjuman V. A, Athira Babu M, and Mirshan I. M, and covered fundamental to intermediate topics, empowering students to write efficient code and solve real-world problems through structured learning and guided practice.
Workshop on Machine Learning – Where Data Meets Intelligence
The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET) organized a highly impactful workshop on Machine Learning titled “Where Data Meets Intelligence”. Held on September 13, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the LINUX Lab, Main Block, ICET, the workshop featured Mr. Littin Rajan, Senior Software Developer at Digital Embrace Pvt. Ltd., as the keynote speaker.
The session focused on core machine learning concepts, real-world applications, and practical demonstrations aimed at helping students understand how data-driven models are shaping today’s intelligent systems. With a registration fee of ₹350, the event offered attendees valuable exposure to one of the most transformative technologies in the AI domain. The workshop was well-received by students eager to gain industry-relevant skills and insights.


Workshop on Web Wizards: Learn and Create (HTML and DOM Manipulation Using JS)
The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET) conducted a creative and skill-building workshop titled “Web Wizards: Learn and Create – HTML and DOM Manipulation Using JS” on September 12, 2023, at the CYBIX Lab, ICET, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The session featured Mr. Mazahir B Haroon, a mentor at Highbrow Academy, as the keynote speaker.
Designed to strengthen front-end development skills, the workshop focused on the fundamentals of HTML, JavaScript, and practical DOM manipulation. Through guided instruction and real-time coding projects, students gained valuable hands-on experience in building interactive web pages. The event was well-received by participants eager to enhance their web development capabilities and explore creative problem-solving with JavaScript.
National Workshop on Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking
The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET) organized a National Two-Day Workshop on Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking in association with Techbyheart. Held on September 13th and 14th, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the CYBIX Lab, ICET, the event provided students with an in-depth understanding of digital security and ethical hacking practices.
With a registration fee of ₹500, the workshop offered hands-on sessions covering real-world cyber threats, ethical hacking methodologies, penetration testing, and security best practices. Guided by expert mentors, students gained practical experience and insights into securing systems against modern cyber attacks. The event was coordinated by Prof. Sharafudheen K. A and student coordinator Aljin Jayan, and was highly appreciated for bridging academic learning with industry-relevant cybersecurity skills.


Orientation Class on Cyber Forensics
The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET) hosted an Orientation Class on Cyber Forensics on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 7:00 PM. The session aimed to introduce students to the rapidly growing field of digital forensics and its significance in today’s cyber landscape.
The orientation was led by Mr. Bhadran V K, Director (Technical) at Alibi Global Pvt. Ltd., Former Head (Technical) of Kerala IT Mission, and Senior Director (Retired) at C-DAC. Seminar on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking
Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology, Muvattupuzha, in association with Techbyheart, organized an engaging seminar on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Seminar Hall, Main Block. This event was part of a broader initiative by the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security to educate students on vital cybersecurity concepts.
The seminar featured Mr. Dhanoop R, a cybersecurity expert from Techbyheart, as the keynote speaker. He delivered an insightful session on cyber threats, hacking techniques, ethical responsibilities, and prevention strategies in today’s digital age. Students gained a deeper understanding of ethical hacking and were encouraged to pursue further learning in this high-demand field. The seminar sparked interactive discussions and was a valuable experience for all participants.


Seminar on Cyber Security
The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET) conducted a seminar on Cyber Security on October 19, 2023 (Thursday) at 9:00 AM in the Main Block Seminar Hall. The event was a focused initiative aimed at raising awareness about data protection and the growing importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital world.
Under the coordination of Sumayya P. I and student coordinator Midhul Sudhik, the session emphasized the quote, “A data breach is about both privacy and security.” It shed light on modern cyber threats, data vulnerabilities, and proactive defense mechanisms. The seminar inspired participants to prioritize cybersecurity, both personally and professionally, and sparked meaningful discussions among students and faculty.
Session on Cyber Crime Awareness and Opportunities for Cyber Professionals
The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology (ICET) hosted an informative session titled “Cyber Crime Awareness and Opportunities for Cyber Professionals” on Friday, October 13th, at 9:30 AM in the Seminar Hall, Admin Block. This session aimed to provide students with a deep understanding of the cybercrime landscape and explore career prospects in the field of cybersecurity.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Mobin K Eldho, Civil Police Officer at the Cyber Forensic Lab (Computer Wing, Kerala Police Academy), shared valuable insights from his professional experience. He discussed real-world cybercrime cases, investigative techniques, and the critical skills needed to thrive in cybersecurity roles. The session was highly engaging, encouraging students to consider cyber forensics and law enforcement as impactful and rewarding career paths.

- Faculty Advisors
Mentoring is a systematic process focusing on student-staff adviser relationship for improving as well as achieving academic, career, and human values. Two staff members are allotted for each batch as mentors. The students can reveal their Academic/personal problems to their Mentors freely and frankly.
The following are the role and responsibilities of Mentor system.
- The Mentor should monitor the performance of the students in internal examination and university examinations and also note their behaviour.
- The students should take the prior permission from the Mentor before they are absent themselves from classes. They have to submit a leave note for the absence for a period / day / days to the Mentor.
- The students will have to meet their Mentor when they are called for.
- The mentor must meet their ward at least once in a month.
