The B.Tech programme was introduced in 2002 with an intake of 60 students and M.Tech programme was added in 2011 with sanctioned intake of 18 students.In 2017 B.Tech sanctioned intake upgraded to 120.In addition, M.Tech. programme for working professionals was launched in 2023 and B.Tech for the same started in 2024 with intakes of 15 and 30, respectively. The program got NBA accredited in 2022 and reaccredited in 2025.
The department is supported by a team of dedicated and qualified faculty members who are committed to nurturing students into competent technocrats with strong professional and ethical values. In a world marked by rapid technological advancements and intense competition, the department provides an environment conducive to learning and innovation, empowering students to master emerging technologies and make significant strides in their careers.
Backbone of Computer Science and Engineering department comprises a crew of qualified, experienced faculty members who are dedicated to the institution and are willing to contribute their knowledge and skills for the bright future of our leaners. The method of curriculum transaction is in accordance with advanced teaching strategies. Here faculty members are generally accepted as social engineers who plays the role of a friend, a guide and a facilitator .
To promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence among students, we have established an association named CODEC. This initiative serves as a platform for organizing workshops, coding competitions, seminars, and peer-led learning activities. We are proud to be affiliated with the Computer Society of India (CSI), ICET Student Chapter, which enables us to host a wide range of innovative seminars and workshops within our institution.

- Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems..
- Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions with consideration for sustainable development.
- Design/Development of Solutions: Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems and design/develop systems/components/processes to meet identified needs with consideration for the public health and safety, whole-life cost, net zero carbon, culture, society and environment as required.
- Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Conduct investigations of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis & interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions.
- Engineering Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering & IT tools, including prediction and modelling recognizing their limitations to solve complex engineering problems.
- The Engineer and The World: Analyze and evaluate societal and environmental aspects while solving complex engineering problems for its impact on sustainability with reference to economy, health, safety, legal framework, culture and environment.
- Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, human values, diversity and inclusion; adhere to national & international laws.
- Individual and Collaborative Team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse/multi-disciplinary teams.

Roles and Responsibilities
- The Department Advisory Committee interacts and maintains liaison with key stakeholders.
- The committee is chaired by the Head of the Department (HOD) who reviews the reports and monitors the progress of the programme.
- The committee develops and recommends new or revised goals and objectives of the programme.

About Mentoring System
Mentoring is a systematic process focusing on student–staff adviser relationship for improving academic performance, career growth, and human values. Two staff members are allotted for each batch as mentors. The students can freely and frankly discuss their academic as well as personal problems with their mentors.
Roles and Responsibilities of Mentor
- The mentor should monitor the performance of students in internal and university examinations and also observe their behaviour.
- Students should take prior permission from the mentor before absenting themselves from classes.
- Students must submit a leave note to the mentor for any absence (day / days).
- Students should meet their mentor whenever they are called for mentoring sessions.
- The mentor must meet their wards at least once in a month to review academic and personal progress.

Students Mr. Eldho Baby and Mr. Abdul Wasithali received a token of appreciation for their outstanding contribution to the development of the Kochi Water Metro website. The recognition was presented during the inauguration of the Mattancherry Water Metro Terminal by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan and Minister Sri. P. Rajeev. Their work played a vital role in creating a user-friendly and accessible digital platform for one of Kerala’s most innovative urban transport projects.
