Prof. (Dr.) Binoy Aliyas Mattamana

Prof. (Dr.) Binoy Aliyas Mattamana holds the position of Dean (Academics) in Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology. Before joining ICET he was the Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at M. A. College of Engineering (Govt. Aided), Kothamangalam.
He started his career as a lecturer at M. A. College of Engineering in the Civil Engineering Department, immediately after his graduation in 1986. During 1993-95, he moved to Gujarath and worked as Senior Research Executive, Operations Research Group, Baroda, and in 1995-96, he worked for WS Atkins(UK). During 2009-10, he served as the Principal of Mangalam College of Engineering, Etumanoor, Kottayam and, he had worked as the Principal of Christ Knowledge City, Mannoor, Muvattupuzha during the years 2010-12.
He completed his graduation, B. Tech. degree (with Distinction) in Civil Engineering, from M.A. College of Engineering, Kothamangalam, which was then affiliated to Kerala University. He carried out his M.E. (with Distinction) in Irrigation Water Management from College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai, Anna University, and he was awarded Ph.D. in Water Resources Engineering and Management from Faculty of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, one of the most prestigious institutes in India for research.
Prof. Binoy Mattamana cleared the test from Indian Green Building Council and now he is an Accredited Professional (AP) of Green Building. He also did a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Counselling from the Indian Institute of Psychological Counselling, New Delhi. Even now, he is pursuing different online courses from Coursera, Khan Academy, and Udemy to keep in touch with cutting edge techniques of modern teaching-learning methods.
Along with teaching, he continued his research. He successfully completed several AICTE, KSCSTE, and other Government and private funded research projects. Also, he was the examiner for Doctoral and Master’s Degree at CUSAT and NIT. He was Chief Superintend and Chairman of Mahathma Gandhi University Examinations and also Academic Auditor for APJ KTU for several years. The NBA accreditation works at M.A. College of Engineering were coordinated by him.
Throughout his teaching carrier, he maintained a close association with applied engineering through consultancy works. Still, he continues his consultancy services in different domains of Civil Engineering like water resources engineering, irrigation, geotechnical engineering, green building, and sustainable building design. His client's list extends over the government and private sectors. He also serves as a psychological counselor, especially for adult’s issues.
